1993
Ah 1993, right in the middle of my teenage years. Grunge was still in full effect so i had long hair, flannel shirts and Doc Marten's, thinking that i kinda looked like Eddie Vedder.Of course we were listening to Seattle's Big 3 ( Nirvana-Pearl Jam-Soundgarden) but one record came out and we fully embraced it: Are You Gonna Go My Way by Lenny Kravitz. I remember it was my friend Simon that had bought it on tape( Yes kids, on tape!!!) and it played over and over. I picked it out this week and gave it a spin and it brought back lots of memories: Les Feux chez Simon Lafrenière ( the same dude mentioned earlier), Les Canadiens qui gagnent la Coupe Stanley, le party chez Derick Dion, mon chum Brew qui nous appelait a chaque fois qui fourrait, Les ligues de hockey sur Super Nintendo chez le meme grand cafon, Les soirées chez Marchie a écouter Elecrtric Ladyland de Jimi Hendrix pis In-A -Gadda-Da-Vida de Iron Butterfly sur les vinyls de son père en fumant du weed. Good times indeed...

I clearly remember this era. Especially the part about the Montreal Canadiens winning the Stanley Cup for the 24th time! I think they went to overtime 11 times during their playoff journey and came out on top 10 times out of 11! Patick Ror and John Leclair were nothing but fabulous, especially against the LA Kings of Wayne Gretzky in the finals. Freaking unbelievable!
As for Lenny Kravitz, I always dug that chick playing drums in the video "Are you gonna go my way".
1993 in the US was all about LL Cool J :-) And no, it is no legal everywhere in the US to shoot someone in your house, only a few states. Thanks for checking out my blog (AKA...my psycho psyche)
