One ''L'' of a disappointment

There's one TV show that is fairly hyped and that i know that it probably has a large following, but everytime i watched it, i always said to myself:'' God that is so boring!''
I'm talking about the ''L'' word. Oh sure there's plenty of girl-girl action going on and all but that's pretty much it. Okay i'm not a lesbian( kinda obvious) so i can't relate to the struggles and what it's like to be one. Basically, the only reason i watched it is because Mia Kirshner ( who i kinda have a thing for...) is in it. Again one word: Boring.

BKB's Pick: Abbey Road

Ok it is a tough choice: choosing one favorite Beatles album. For years for me, it was a tie between Revolver and Abbey Road. Everytime somebody asked me which Fab Four record i liked best, it was never a clear choice. Now i gotta go with Abbey Road but Revolver is a close second. Even though The Beatles were on the verge of splitting, it s still a masterpiece at so many levels. So now you know my choice, what's yours and why?

The new DJ Shadow made in Québec

I came across this pure gem by Maxime Robin. For all of you that is in hip-hop- electro stuff, you'll dig it very much. It's what DJ Shadow should sound like these days. Check it out:

1993

Ah 1993, right in the middle of my teenage years. Grunge was still in full effect so i had long hair, flannel shirts and Doc Marten's, thinking that i kinda looked like Eddie Vedder.Of course we were listening to Seattle's Big 3 ( Nirvana-Pearl Jam-Soundgarden) but one record came out and we fully embraced it: Are You Gonna Go My Way by Lenny Kravitz. I remember it was my friend Simon that had bought it on tape( Yes kids, on tape!!!) and it played over and over. I picked it out this week and gave it a spin and it brought back lots of memories: Les Feux chez Simon Lafrenière ( the same dude mentioned earlier), Les Canadiens qui gagnent la Coupe Stanley, le party chez Derick Dion, mon chum Brew qui nous appelait a chaque fois qui fourrait, Les ligues de hockey sur Super Nintendo chez le meme grand cafon, Les soirées chez Marchie a écouter Elecrtric Ladyland de Jimi Hendrix pis In-A -Gadda-Da-Vida de Iron Butterfly sur les vinyls de son père en fumant du weed. Good times indeed...

Let the Sun Shine In!

Oh it's such a perfect day ( as Lou Reed used to say) here in Montreal today. Time to go out and enjoy whatever you people like to do when the weather is great. (plenty of options available...)

Ain't that so true?

Like my man Rob Gordon (portrayed by John Cusack) said in High Fidelity: ''It's not important what you are like but what YOU like. Music, films books, these things matter. Call me shallow but it's the fuckin truth''. Don't you agree? I do...

Girlie Record

Everybody's got their kinda feel good or ''girlie'' record ( it applies more if you're a guy). Mine is this one: Tapestry by Carole King. I can't explain it but i'm always happy to hear it and each play is a delight. For those who dosen't know it, go and look it up and you'll see what i'm talking about...

best of both worlds

Don't worry my english speaking fans, i'll post some stuff in english as well from time to time. I promise it will be as compelling and meaningless as the french ones.:p

Tago Mago!

TO DO list pour ce week-end:

Vendredi-Possiblement aller boire de la bière avec Wrik et Bigos au St-Sulpice.
Samedi, Dimanche et peut-etre même lundi- Peindre et finir d'aménager mon domaine de Villeray.

Excitant non??

In the beginning...

Eh oui BKB a succombé au trend et s'est créé un merveilleux blog! Donc vous tous mes muthas et mutharettes, enjoy!
